Right now you’re most likely thinking, even subconsciously, that exercise is hard and tiring or at least needs to be to receive any benefit from it. Well, I’m going to relieve you from that burdening thought and give you another to consider.
There are many, if not countless forms of exercise and there are also endless reasons why you exercise (or should). If you had a very specific goal you wanted to achieve then that would mean you would have to train in a very specific and controlled way, with a plan. But if your goal is simply to be healthier, feel better about yourself, move better and live pain-free then you have the flexibility to do almost anything you want.
If there is one thing I want you to remember it is this.
Make exercising pleasurable!
Movement, play, exercising, whatever you want to call it, and however, you want to do it, it is completely up to you. The most important part is that you enjoy it and want to do it consistently enough that it becomes a part of your life, not a chore. You will make so much more progress when you can do something consistently for a really long period of time, overdoing something that is supposed to be ‘the best form of training’.
The second biggest takeaway I want you to remember is that it doesn’t need to be ‘hard’. You don’t need to sweat your ass off or push yourself until you want to collapse for you to benefit from it. If you’re moving in some way shape or form and you’re enjoying it, you’re doing it right!
