Everyone starts as a Beginner

Have you ever avoided trying something new all because you had never done it before? Or have you avoided having a go at something new because you assumed you wouldn’t be good at it? If this is the case then you are really holding yourself back and missing out on a heap of new experiences.

Every day you will have the opportunity to try new things but that can only happen if you are open to them and willing to put yourself out there. These opportunities can come in any way, shape, or form but the more open you are the more you’ll start to notice them.

It’s not uncommon that people like yourself avoid trying exercise, sport, and physical activity simply because they have never done it before or because they don’t think they will be very good at it.

At the end of the day though everyone starts as a beginner, we all just start at different times. We all have to go through the same processes of learning and practicing things before we get a good handle on them.

It’s no lie that we do the things we enjoy and we enjoy the things we are good at but you can’t expect to be good at something you have never done before and this certainly shouldn’t be the reason you don’t have a go in the first place. You need to give yourself the opportunity to try new things without any expectations on how well you do, having a go should be your only focus here.

So next time you think you’d like to give something a try or you get offered to join in on an activity whether it be joining a gym, dancing, martial arts, group fitness class, pilates class or even an arts class just go for it. Put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to give it a try.
